Located on the east coast of South Andaman Island, Port Blair is the largest town and the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a union territory of India. Port Blair also serves as the the main entry point to the islands. It houses a number of museums and is a base for the Indian Navy and the Indian Coast Guard. Port Blair has a tropical monsoon climate, with little variation in average temperature and all months except January, February and March receive substantial rainfall.
