North India - Jalpaiguri

Lying on the banks of Teesta River, Jalpaiguri is a town in the state of West Bengal, India. Jalpaiguri lies in the middle of the vast fertile plains (Terai) south of the Himalayas, watered by innumerable rivers and rivulets rising from and flowing down the Himalayas. On a clear sunny day, Mount Kanchenjunga is visible from the town itself. Jalpaiguri means the land of land of Olive trees. There are endless tea plantations in the town blanketing the town with green.
